An Interview With The Talented Authoress Pebbles Lacasse

Writer's picture: Scerina ElizabethScerina Elizabeth

I have had the pleasure of interviewing the very lovely and talented Authoress Pebbles Lacasse. I have known her for a few years now and I must say she is quiet a unique soul who truly is a pleasure to know and be friends with. She is very talented and have been writing for sometime now with a ton of publish books under her belt. She is best known for her Steamy Erotic BDSM stories, most recently her steamy retelling of the classic fairytale "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" (which I have read myself and LOVED IT). So without further ado, here is her interview...

AUTHORESS PEBBLES LACASSE INTERVIEW

SE: When did you start writing & How long have you been writing?

PL: I wrote my first book in 2011 under an alias. It was a paranormal fantasy book that turned into a five-book series aimed for the 14+ age category. Afterward, I wrote a murder mystery with a dark sexual scene for the 18+. From 2013 to 2016 I took a break and wrote nothing. One day, out of the blue, I started writing a contemporary erotic romance novel with a BDSM sub-genre and I was captivated. That was in late 2016 and I can’t imagine myself ever stopping. This is what I was meant to write!

SE: What is your very first published book?

PL: I can’t say the name of that one because it’s written under a secret alias. My first book as Pebbles Lacasse was My JoeSmith #1 which led to #2. About a year ago, I reclaimed my first five erotic novels from my publishing company because I think they could use some sprucing up. I can’t wait to get them all back online, new and improved!

SE: What do you love the most about writing?

PL: What I love the most about writing is that I can lose myself in a whole other life where I have full control over everything and everyone. Yes, I’m a bit of a control freak. My realistic life is awesome but I think we can all agree that becoming someone else for a day would be exciting. I can do that when I write.

SE: Where do you draw your inspiration from when you write?

PL: I draw my inspiration from my real life. That’s not to say I’m a wild woman like the characters in my stories, but the personalities of each character stems from me and the people I’m closest to. I love to sit down and listen to people tell me their most intimate secrets. If they describe something wickedly wild and I put it in a book, they’ve earned themselves a paperback copy.

SE: What is your biggest pet peeve as an author?

PL: As an author, my biggest pet peeve is dealing with the promotional aspect of book releases. I despise it so much I’ll let a book sit for a month before I talk myself into starting the promos. If I could make all the promo pictures and hand them off to someone else to handle the promotions while I start writing my next best novel, I’d be happier than a Robin at a worm farm.

SE: What is your biggest challenge as an author?

PL: As I’ve explained, promotions are my biggest challenge. Keeping up with social media also has me frustrated at times. There are so many sites to deal with on a daily basis that no one can get to them all and still have a life. I made the decision to choose only so many and walk away from the others and I’m happier for it.

SE: What is your biggest reward as an author?

PL: My biggest reward as an author is opening the first paperback novel that arrives from the printer’s and stuffing my nose in to smell the pages. It’s just what I do first. There’s a sense of pride and self-satisfaction in knowing I wrote down a lot of words and somehow, they made a story that will take people’s minds away from their lives and into the world I created. It makes me feel powerful and purposeful.

SE: How do you handle writer’s block?

PL: Hmm, I don’t often get writer’s block. Sometimes I’ll pick up another story I’m working on just to give me something else to think about for a while. When my characters start hijacking my dreams I’ll get back to the story. That seems to quiet them down.

SE: If you could have any job in the world, what would it be and why?

PL: If I could have any job in the world, I’d be a repeatedly bestselling author whose stories become blockbuster movies. That’d be exciting!

SE: If you were granted one wish, what would it be and why?

PL: One wish? Any wish? I’d wish to not have Porphyria because I’d love to lie under the baking sun and savor the UV light. If I were completely healthy and not always in pain, nothing could stop me and I would soar!

SE: Do you write in any other genre(s)? If so, which one(s)?

PL: I’ve written in the fantasy and murder mystery genres but they didn’t thrill me as much as contemporary erotic romance does. This suits my personality more than any other genre. At some point, I may dip my toes in another genre but for now, I’m sticking with what I do best.

SE: Do you have any new book releases?

PL: Yes! Goldilocks and the Three Bear Brothers: Overture, Book 3 just release on April 11th. It’s a

steamy rendition of the age-old fairy tale, but with an erotic twist. Sorry, there are no actual bears or bear shifters. The brothers’ last name is Bear and they all want to share Goldilocks in every way. On March 30th, I released an erotic short story called Carter’s Mistress. Carter has never had the opportunity to be a submissive but he desires to. Leah fantasizes about becoming a dominatrix. Together they step out of the normalcy of their marriages to act upon their fantasies.

SE: Do you have any upcoming Paranormal Romance release(s)? If so, when is the release(s) and what title(s)?

PL: I don’t write paranormal anymore. I’ll leave that to the amazing authors who will better do the genre justice. I’ll stick with contemporary erotic romance for now. Perhaps if I should bore of it, I may wander, one day.
